Types of Auto Window Tinting Pt. 2

More types of Auto Window Tinting

Formula One by AES has a couple of other window tints you may want to consider when getting the windows tinted on your car. We’ve already covered 2 options in last week’s blog, but here are 2 more options you may want to consider when getting window tints done on your car.

Hybrid Window Tinting: As the name suggests, this style of window tinting is designed to give you the benefits of Metalized and Dyed window tints, but none of the disadvantages. It consists of a sticky under-layer with a dyed and metalized layer on top with a protective layer on top of all of it. And it mostly accomplishes what is sets out to do. It blocks UV light and cuts down on glare from the sun. It doesn’t interfere with radio and cell phone waves like Metalized layers can. It’s at reduced risk of fading because of the metal layer. It also reflects heat very effectively. The only real downside is that it is more expensive than getting a dyed layer. Although it should be noted that this type of window tinting is often less expensive than getting a full Metalized window tinting.

Ceramic Film: The last kind of window tinting is Ceramic film tinting. As the name suggests, a thin layer of ceramic is layered between a sticky underlayer and a protective top layer much like the dyed window tinting. Ceramic tints allow for radio waves to pass through while also reflecting back heat and UV rays. They can cut down the glare from the sun and aren’t prone to fading like dyed tints. They are also far less reflective than metal tints meaning the window tinting will have that matte look most people are looking for. Cermic is however, the most expensive option. But it might just be worth it.

Those are the main kinds of window tints you’ll run into when deciding on how to tint your car’s windows. If you need any kind of tinting, give Formula One by AES a call today at 405-513-6400.

Types of Auto Window Tinting Pt. 1

The different types of Auto Window Tinting

Getting the windows tinted on your car can be a wise investment. Tinting your windows can cut the glare from the sun, making driving easier and saving your eyes alot of strain. They can also protect you and your car’s interior from damaging UV radiation from the Sun. But once you start getting in to deciding how dark of a tint you want you may start to realize that there are different kinds of window tinting. So which one do you pick? Formula One By AES is here to help you decide. Here are the different kinds of window tinting:

Dyed Window Film: This type of film is made of a dye pressed between a sticky bottom layer and a protective top layer. This type of tends to look really good and it doesn’t block radio waves. It’s also the most cost-effective type of window tinting. But, it can have problems if not installed properly and the layers can separate over time. Also, the sun can eventually break down the tint, changing it from black to a deep purple.

Matelized Window Film: This type of window tinting is made of several layers of adhesive and film. It’s very effective at blocking sunlight, blocking all but 10 to 40% of light. It’s also good for reducing heat as one of the layers is designed to reflect heat away from the car. Which also means this type of film is great for blocking UV rays. It’s extremely durable and doesn’t fade over time. However it is more expensive and it can block radio waves ( a problem for in-care antennas). It’s also very shiny, which is not a look most like when tinting.

These are just some of the window tinting types for your auto. Join Formula One by AES next week for more window tinting types! And if you need and kind of Window Tinting, protective or decorative, call Formula One by AES today at 405-513-6400!
