Window Tinting: Decorative Tinting for Large Logos

Using decorative window tinting to help sell your business

Window tinting isn’t just for exterior windows and autos anymore. Window tinting has a large number of applications that can be used by any kind of business. One type of project that FormulaOne By AES really enjoys doing is creating custom artwork for companies to match their branding. Our decorative designs can be used on more than outside windows as well. In fact, our decorative projects are most often used in places like conference rooms, lobbies, educational institutions, and accent walls in offices.

One example of our custom work was for the OU School of Law. At the beginning of this particular project we started out with the school’s logo. Our team got to work ensuring that this decorative tinting would look amazing and fit just right! We spent many hours re-creating the logo onto film and vinyl so we could apply it to the window they needed.

In the end, the staff at the OU School of  Law was so pleased with the final product of the decorative tinting that they put it in a commercial about their new area in the library. Throughout the commercial you’ll see several shots of the Lumar Window Film in White Frost with black vinyl. This wasn’t the only wall we did though, there was another wall covered with a decorative logo which we did in Oracal Red. To see the commercial, click here.

Decorative Film: Want to spice up a room? Want to add some privacy but not give up the light provided by a window? Than Decorative window tinting might be for you. This is the thinnest type of tinting and often doesn’t offer much protection from the sun but it does add a unique look to a room. You can add a frosting to a whole window for privacy or add a design for something truly eye-catching.

Solar Control (Low-E) Window Film: This type of window fill focuses on blocking out UV rays to protect furniture from fading. It can also help control the temperature in your home lowering energy bills.

Window Security Film: You might not think about window tinting as a home defense tool but there are certain films that will help prevent glass shards from shooting everywhere when a window is broken. It holds the window shards together when the window is shattered, by accident or otherwise, meaning shards are kept off the floor and would be criminals are deterred by the film still blocking entry.

Types of Auto Window Tinting Pt. 2

More types of Auto Window Tinting

Formula One by AES has a couple of other window tints you may want to consider when getting the windows tinted on your car. We’ve already covered 2 options in last week’s blog, but here are 2 more options you may want to consider when getting window tints done on your car.

Hybrid Window Tinting: As the name suggests, this style of window tinting is designed to give you the benefits of Metalized and Dyed window tints, but none of the disadvantages. It consists of a sticky under-layer with a dyed and metalized layer on top with a protective layer on top of all of it. And it mostly accomplishes what is sets out to do. It blocks UV light and cuts down on glare from the sun. It doesn’t interfere with radio and cell phone waves like Metalized layers can. It’s at reduced risk of fading because of the metal layer. It also reflects heat very effectively. The only real downside is that it is more expensive than getting a dyed layer. Although it should be noted that this type of window tinting is often less expensive than getting a full Metalized window tinting.

Ceramic Film: The last kind of window tinting is Ceramic film tinting. As the name suggests, a thin layer of ceramic is layered between a sticky underlayer and a protective top layer much like the dyed window tinting. Ceramic tints allow for radio waves to pass through while also reflecting back heat and UV rays. They can cut down the glare from the sun and aren’t prone to fading like dyed tints. They are also far less reflective than metal tints meaning the window tinting will have that matte look most people are looking for. Cermic is however, the most expensive option. But it might just be worth it.

Those are the main kinds of window tints you’ll run into when deciding on how to tint your car’s windows. If you need any kind of tinting, give Formula One by AES a call today at 405-513-6400.

This first one is a simple design that can go in any home. Placed in a bathroom this kind of tinting can grant a good deal of privacy while still allowing lots of natural light to come in and light your bathroom. The modern design can fit well in any home while simultaneously adding a great amount of character to your home. The window tinting can stretch the length of the window, not just the frosted parts, so you don’t need to worry about your bathroom receiving uneven exposure from UV and IR rays.

Various Shades Of Frosted Color Blocking Window Tinting Film

Privacy Meets Decorative In This Window Tinting Project

The white frost look has become quite popular for privacy purposes in many different offices. It’s not uncommon to see white frost window tinting film being used between cubicles that have glass windows separating them or for doors with glass windows leading to an office. Today, our FormulaOne by AES team is showing how various shades of frosted window tinting film can be utilized to create a unique design.

What’s great about the darker frost is that it allows for a bit of privacy and by mixing it up with the lighter window tinting film the office door’s window looks a lot more glamourous. This color blocking effect is affordable, functional, and also decorative. As you can see in both the cover photo of this article and the full size photo below, the sections of frosted window tinting film have been perfectly placed to create a symmetrical look on both sides.

Colorful Decorative Window Tinting

Custom Shaped Decorative Window Tinting

Colorful Circular Window Tinting Film

We feel that there’s something simply intriguing about windows that aren’t the standard rectangular or square shape. It seems that many designers are taking a more artistic approach and finding inspiration for many different shaped windows. These custom shaped windows are certainly a great way to add a unique architectural look to your home, office, or commercial building. Today, we’re showcasing a circular window, because colorful decorative window tinting is even better than a plain circular window!

FormulaOne by AES was challenged with this particular project to provide custom shaped decorative window tinting in multiple colors. The project took time to create the custom circular shape with perfect precision. Next, the window tinting film had to be perfectly placed to avoid bubbles and since it was on the ceiling, it was a fun project to complete. As with any project, this film was cut exactly to fit every inch of the glass.

The design choice by the owners certainly made for a superb option for making their circular window look even more stylish. As you can see in the photo, the semi-transparent colored window tinting film mimics a stained glass appearance in that it can still allow natural light to flow in with an array of colors!

FormulaOne by AES has had a few projects involving the decorative window tinting as it has become quite popular. So, if you are looking for a colorful window tinting option to go with your unique shaped windows or you would like to learn more about our selection, don’t hesitate to get in touch! Science Museum Oklahoma- Blue Window Tinting Film

The Long-Lasting Decorative Window Tinting At Science Museum Oklahoma

Way Back Wednesday: Remembering A Past Window Tinting Project

It may be an understatement to say that many people’s lives have been enriched by visiting the Science Museum Oklahoma (possibly remembered by some as the Omniplex). For generations people have marveled at the scientific wonders and new discoveries found inside. Taking a look at the museum’s history you will learn that the building itself has changed quite a bit as it has gone through many transformations since 1958. Of course, a building isn’t just about being inviting on the inside, because it’s the outside décor that has to almost subconsciously draw someone in. That’s where decorative window tinting came into play at the end of February, 2016.

FormulaOne by AES had the privilege and honor of being hired last year to apply some decorative window tinting film to the many glass pieces that now make up the sidewalk’s awning outside of the Science Museum Oklahoma. Each piece of film was carefully measured, cut, and individually applied to each rectangularly shaped piece of glass. The unique blue color of the film was meant to mimic a sort of stained glass, but at a fraction of the cost!

Now, over one year later visitors can still see the results of our handy work sticking on strong. The durable, decorative window tinting is certainly a long-lasting film that is still doing its job of providing protection from the sun’s heat, glare, and Ultraviolet Radiation. If you’ve never really taken the time to notice this film before, now you know why it’s there. If it’s been a while since your last visit, next time you’re out at the Science Museum Oklahoma look up at the decorative window tinting on your way inside!

We love helping businesses achieve various looks with many different window tinting options. If you own a business and you’d like to get started with your own project that will be sure to last for years to come, feel free to contact FormulaOne by AES at 405-513-6400.
