Window tinting is perfect for a pool house

Window Tinting for the summer home

Having a swimming pool in your back yard can be quite the blessing. It gives you a great place to play and gather in the summer, raises the value of your home, and generally adds a nice atmosphere to a home. Part of the attraction of a pool house is being able to enjoy sitting by the pool in the shade relaxing. Sometimes though, you or your guests need a little more privacy or you want less glare from the sunlight streaming in on your face. The perfect solution to many of these problems is window tinting!

A pool house is a great way to provide a multitude of amenities to you and your guests. It can be a comfortable changing room, nearby bathroom, or just a relaxing place to rest. Imagine being able to come into your pool house after building up an appetite from swimming with enough light to see outside, while also keeping out the harsh ultraviolet rays from the sun. You could enjoy a nice cookout style meal without the fear of getting sunburned!

You could choose to sit at a table inside, eat a snack, and look out over the gorgeous view of your pool. Or maybe you’d like to sit inside and have a chat without having to deal with the glare of the sunlight blinding you. Window tinting can truly make your pool house have a real sense of calm.

.Not only is window tinting a functional investment for keeping you, your guests, and your family safe from UV rays, but it also protects your beloved furniture, carpet, flooring, and other decorations from fading. Window tinting may be the piece you need to transform your pool house into a cozy summer getaway.

Large window tinting projects?

Window Tinting for large windows?

You want to get some window tinting done for all the windows in your home? Great! Window Tinting is one of the soundest and longest lasting investments you can make for your home. Not all windows are made the same though, and you might have a large window or glass sliding door. You might be wondering if the increased size will be a problem for the installers. Formula One by AES has the answers when it comes to big window projects.

First off, you can absolutely put tinting on a larger window. Size isn’t an issue when determining if window tinting would be a good idea. There are a few more steps to getting the tinting right on a larger window though.

Firstly, it usually requires the help of another person as the film is much too large for one person to handle effectively. Larger windows also need to be seamed, two films overlapping, because of the larger size. All the steps normally taken to apply a film to a window are also more laborious because of the size. It’s doubly important to make sure no air bubbles and leaks are present on larger windows because of the extra material and steps needed. It shouldn’t take much longer than a standard window though, especially when the job is being handled by trained professionals. Larger window tinting jobs can be more vulnerable to water as well, so special care needs to be placed on making sure it’s watertight. It’s a good idea to come back in about a week to make sure the window tinting is still watertight as well.

It takes a little more work, but there’s no reasons the largest windows in your home can’t benefit from window tinting like all the rest. If you need any kind of window tinting done, call Formula One by AES today at 405-513-6400!

Types of Auto Window Tinting Pt. 1

The different types of Auto Window Tinting

Getting the windows tinted on your car can be a wise investment. Tinting your windows can cut the glare from the sun, making driving easier and saving your eyes alot of strain. They can also protect you and your car’s interior from damaging UV radiation from the Sun. But once you start getting in to deciding how dark of a tint you want you may start to realize that there are different kinds of window tinting. So which one do you pick? Formula One By AES is here to help you decide. Here are the different kinds of window tinting:

Dyed Window Film: This type of film is made of a dye pressed between a sticky bottom layer and a protective top layer. This type of tends to look really good and it doesn’t block radio waves. It’s also the most cost-effective type of window tinting. But, it can have problems if not installed properly and the layers can separate over time. Also, the sun can eventually break down the tint, changing it from black to a deep purple.

Matelized Window Film: This type of window tinting is made of several layers of adhesive and film. It’s very effective at blocking sunlight, blocking all but 10 to 40% of light. It’s also good for reducing heat as one of the layers is designed to reflect heat away from the car. Which also means this type of film is great for blocking UV rays. It’s extremely durable and doesn’t fade over time. However it is more expensive and it can block radio waves ( a problem for in-care antennas). It’s also very shiny, which is not a look most like when tinting.

These are just some of the window tinting types for your auto. Join Formula One by AES next week for more window tinting types! And if you need and kind of Window Tinting, protective or decorative, call Formula One by AES today at 405-513-6400!

Cool Window Tinting ideas from Pintrest Pt. 1

Window tinting is a great investment in your home, and it can even be customized!

Here are some of the coolest window tinting ideas we found browsing the internet.

Window Tinting

This first one is a simple design that can go in any home. Placed in a bathroom this kind of tinting can grant a good deal of privacy while still allowing lots of natural light to come in and light your bathroom. The modern design can fit well in any home while simultaneously adding a great amount of character to your home. The window tinting can stretch the length of the window, not just the frosted parts, so you don’t need to worry about your bathroom receiving uneven exposure from UV and IR rays.

Window Tinting

Frosted shower doors like this one are a great way to add some modern flair to a bathroom. In addition, they provide that extra little bit of privacy to make shower time more enjoyable. The other big benefit is the extra protection from shattered glass. Window tinting can help keep glass from shattering. It will crack, but it won’t shatter. Which is a nice, since you probably don’t want broken glass where you shower!

Window Tinting

Similar to the first photo, this frosted glass look gives your shower a good amount of privacy while also letting natural light stream in. Again, the slick modern design will go well in any home. This doesn’t have to be for a shower either, imagine an office conference room with these doors. A cool eye-catching design that also provides protection from the sun and privacy for those VIP clients. Designs like this one are very flexible and can fit into a wide range of settings.

These are just a few of the ideas we’ve found. Come back next week to see the rest. If any of these ideas have inspired you to try a decorative window tinting in your home or office, give Formula One By AES a call today at 405-513-6400!

Window Tinting as a safety measure?

Window Tinting can help cool your home but could it also protect you in other ways?

Well, in a way, yes. Window tints and film mostly help protect you by strengthening the glass panes and reducing the chances of shattering. Window tinting and films are applied by stretching it over the windows themselves. This lets professionals install window tints and films without having to remove or replace glass panes but it also has the secondary benefit of giving the window another layer of strength.  In addition, the film also helps protect against shattering by acting as a net to catch the shards. The glass may crack, but it’s far less likely to shatter and send glass shards at you and your family.

Additional Privacy

A vehicle with tinted windows is harder to look into, some people like the privacy that gives them as well as how it hides any valuables they keep in there car. The same idea goes for window tinting in your home. If a thief can’t see into your home, they’ll be less likely to break in. Additionally, because the window tinting will strengthen your windows it’ll be that much harder for a thief to break in.

Extra protection from storms

Raging storms are a scary thought. Storms like to throw debris around. During one of these storms the risk of shattering windows is high. Window tinting provides additional protection by not only strengthening your homes windows but by also preventing shattering. The window tinting can catch the cracked glass and keep it from spilling into your home with the rain and wind. Storms are scary enough, don’t add the extra stress of worrying about shattered glass in your home.

Window tinting and film are a solid investment in more ways than just saving energy. Give Formula One by AES a call today at 405-513-6400!

window film

How Window film protects furniture

Nice furniture and floors are expensive. Here’s how window film can help protect this investment.

The main source of damage that the sun causes is fading and darkening of wood. We’ll get into how window film helps protect your interiors but first, how does the sun affect your interiors? Hardwood floors and furniture can change shade over time with unprotected exposure to the sun. While some woods can still look good after this fading or darkening, this is only if the affect is uniform across the whole floor. Since most floors have parts covered with rugs and furniture, your unlikely to get universal coverage and you’ll be left with ugly, uneven patches on your floor. UV rays are the primary culprit when it comes to altering furniture. These rays are invisible to the naked eye but over time, it can cause furniture to fade, floors to darken, artwork to degrade, and generally wreak havoc on your interiors. The other kind of ray that can accelerate this kind of damage are infrared rays. Infrared rays are the main type of heating ray, heating up the interiors of your home and accelerating the damage caused by UV rays. One more thing to note, these are the same rays that can affect your skin as well. Just because your indoors does not mean you are safe from these potentially damaging rays.

Here’s how Window Film protects your home and you

High quality window film, like the ones sold by Formula One By AES, work by reflecting the suns UV and IR rays. High quality window film can block out up to 99.99% of UV rays, protecting your furniture and you in the process, and up to 85% of IR rays. In addition to protecting you and your furniture, window film will also lower your energy costs by reducing the amount of heat that enters your home from the suns rays.

Today, we’re showcasing a circular window, because colorful decorative window tinting is even better than a plain circular window!

FormulaOne by AES was challenged with this particular project to provide custom shaped decorative window tinting in multiple colors. The project took time to create the custom circular shape with perfect precision. Next, the window tinting film had to be perfectly placed to avoid bubbles and since it was on the ceiling, it was a fun project to complete. As with any project, this film was cut exactly to fit every inch of the glass.

The design choice by the owners certainly made for a superb option for making their circular window look even more stylish. As you can see in the photo, the semi-transparent colored window tinting film mimics a stained glass appearance in that it can still allow natural light to flow in with an array of colors!

Pub W- Blackout Window Tinting

3 Ways Pub W In South OKC Benefits From Blackout Window Tinting

Custom Window Tinting For A “Chill” Ambience

Pub W is a restaurant chain that was originally established in 2013 and their most recent location opened up in November of 2016 on the south side of Oklahoma City. To maintain the ambience of a modern American pub with an atmosphere that makes you want to “chill out”, the restaurant owners opted to have blackout window tinting film applied to their windows.

This speciality, custom window tinting film offers the restaurant a myriad of benefits. Today, we’d like to discuss 3 ways in which Pub W is recognizing a few of those benefits even nearly 6 months after the application took place!

  • Room darkening benefits: By utilizing window tinting rather than other window treatment options, the owners of Pub W have been able to benefit from a more effective light suppression option at a low cost. The trouble with blackout curtains is that the maintenance to keep them cleaned is a lot more costly and strenuous than wiping down a window! Furthermore, blackout blinds often still allow light to peak in around the sides, making them a poor choice for total room darkening.
  • Increased energy savings: High quality blackout window tinting has a highly efficient solar reflectance rating and solar absorption properties. This translates to the owners of Pub W being able to reduce their energy bills thanks to the diminished need for air conditioning and the film also helps keep the interior warmer during colder months, too!
  • 100% privacy: If you’re walking outside the building at Pub W, you will notice that you cannot see inside the windows. That’s due to the completely opaque blackout window tinting. This sounds like it’s only a benefit for the diners, but truly if those eating inside don’t have to worry about people staring at them from outside they’ll feel more “chill” and be more immersed into the Pub W atmosphere.

Do you want room darkening, energy savings, and 100% privacy for your home or commercial property? Let FormulaOne by AES help you with custom window tinting! Give us a call at 405-513-6400!

Starbucks- Window Tinting

One-Way Mirror Window Tinting Provides Safety To Starbucks’ Baristas

Window Tinting For Protection In More Than One Way

Have you ever thought about the reason why many restaurant chains will never allow service to be provided to someone who isn’t in a vehicle when they come to a drive-through window? Of course, it could possibly be to prevent liability issues such a vehicle accidentally running down a pedestrian in line. Most of all, the answer boils down to safety of those working for the establishment. Starbucks on the north side of Edmond, Oklahoma took the safety of their baristas one step further with one-way mirror window tinting!

As you have most likely seen on television, a one-way mirror (also known as a two-way mirror) allows viewers from the inside to see perfectly outside while those on the outside only see their reflection. The one-way mirror window tinting film works to turn ordinary glass into this reflective glass in a jiffy.

During the daytime the one-way mirror window tinting film also serves as a great way to protect against the sun’s harsh rays from beaming in on the workers, the merchandise, and the cash register. At night, when safety is even more necessary, the window tinting film allows baristas to see whether unexpected visitors have come to the window while maintaining a level of privacy for the workers inside.

So, next time you’re up on the north side of Edmond grabbing your coffee “to go”, you can think about how much Starbucks values the safety of their baristas! How’s that for awesome?

We love window tinting and all that it can do to protect against UV rays and to keep prying eyes out! We also love helping people achieve the window tinting look that they desire. If you’re looking for one-way mirror film, please feel free to give FormulaOne by AES a call for your next project. We can be reached at 405-513-6400.
